CHAIRMAN – Dr. Mrs. Onayiga Atinuke Muyinat

She is a Medical Practitioner with over 35 years of professional experience, ranging from Public health to Hospital administration.

Born on the 9th of June, 1957, Dr Atinuke Onayiga hailed from Owu – Ikosi, Ikosi Ejirin Local Council Development Area of Epe, Lagos State.

She began her Secondary Education at St Theresa College, Ibadan and with a strong passion for medicine, the go – getter scholar left Nigeria for Egypt to commence her medical academic journey, qualifying as a Medical Doctor (MBChB) from the University of Alexandria, returning home later to enroll with the popular University of Lagos for a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH), Leadership and Health Management certification from the Royal Institute of Public Administration (RIPA) UK and the University of Washington USA.

Her enrollment into the service of Lagos State, after her studies, saw her serving at one time or the other in different managerial and strategic leadership positions in the three tiers of health care of the State , including being the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board.

She had earlier served as the Director of Medical Services at the Health Service Commission during which she practiced in several General Hospitals, in various capacities.
Along the line, Dr Onayiga, a medical professional of note, became a statutory member of the pioneer Board of LASUTH, for two terms, from 2008 to 2012 (1st term) and from 2012 to July 2015 (2nd term), acting in various capacity disciplines and proving her mettle in terms of quality and enhanced service delivery.

Since her inauguration as the Chairman of the 5 – member Commission, the cerebral hardworking Dr (Mrs) Atinuke Onayiga has assumed duty at the Health Service Commission (HSC) located at 1, Ganiu Smith Street on the Island.
